* Caution: The water filtered by this method is not drinking water.

Prepare the material

・ Two PET bottles (of the same size) ・ Pebbles (cleanly washed) ・ Charcoal (activated carbon or charcoal for barbecue) ・ Cut cotton ・ Cutter or scissors * Charcoal can be purchased at home improvement stores. * When using a knife, have an adult follow you and be careful.

Step 1: Cut the plastic bottle

Cut one of the PET bottles with a cutter or scissors at the top and the other at the bottom.

Step 2: Fill the mouth of the PET bottle with squeezed cut cotton.

Soak the cut cotton in water, squeeze it tightly, and squeeze it into the mouth of the PET bottle.

Step 3: Put the ingredients in a PET bottle

Put the prepared materials in the order of pebbles, cut cotton, charcoal, cut cotton, and pebbles in a PET bottle filled with squeezed cut cotton.

Step 4: Stack PET bottles

Place the material on the cut end of another PET bottle with the drinking side of the PET bottle facing down. Please stack firmly so that it will not come off.

Step 5: Add muddy water

Gently pour muddy water from above. What about the water that comes out of the plastic bottle ...?

Complete!

The muddy water has become clear water.
