Sony Group's new "Virtual Production Permanent Studio"

The Sony Group will set up a permanent virtual production studio at the newly established creative base "Kiyosumi Shirakawa BASE" (Koto-ku, Tokyo). We aim to accelerate efforts for virtual production using light emitting diode (LED) walls. Sony PCL provides shooting and production solutions by virtual production. Advance the development of video expression methods and production workflows. [Photo] Virtual Production Permanent Studio Sony's "Crystal LED B Series" is arranged in a curved surface to realistically draw high-definition images with high brightness, wide color gamut, and high contrast. The low-reflection coating that suppresses the reflection of lighting and the wide viewing angle allow you to shoot with free camera work. An image noise reduction function that occurs when shooting LED displays has also been added. Virtual production using LED walls displays a virtual background centered on 3D computer graphics (3DCG) on a large display. By shooting people and things in the real world with a camera, it is possible to create images that combine CG and live action without post-processing.
