A robot vacuum cleaner pushes the stove, watch out for fire Tokyo Fire Department
Two fires have been confirmed in Tokyo this winter that are said to have been caused by robot vacuum cleaners pushing and moving electric stoves without permission. The Tokyo Fire Department announced on the 8th. No one was injured in either case, but the agency is calling for caution, saying that it was confirmed by experiments in addition to on-site investigations and interviews with residents at the origin of the fire.
According to the announcement, in December last year, an electric heater touched a room in an apartment, and the sofa burned. The stove was originally located about 50 centimeters away from the sofa, but the resident said he left the cleaning to the robot vacuum cleaner while staying in another room in the room.
In another apartment fire that occurred this month, an electric heater under the desk was pushed by a robot vacuum cleaner and touched the drawer, burning about 20 square meters of the room. The resident reportedly left the robot vacuum cleaner running.
In the video of the agency's experiment, you can see the robot vacuum cleaner heading for the stove, pushing it to move it, contacting the sofa and then leaving. There was also an example of changing the position while entangling the cord of the stove. The person in charge said, "When using a robot vacuum cleaner, please pay attention to safety, such as unplugging the power cord of the stove."
