From the introduction of robots to unmanned stores, retail tech comparison Web service started: Smart retail
Peers Co., Ltd. announced on July 8, 2021 that it will launch a service "Retail Tech Platform" that supports the selection and introduction of domestic and overseas solutions related to retail tech. It is said that it is "the first case in Japan" (Peas) to develop a solution platform specialized in retail tech as a business.
In addition to various solutions to realize unmanned stores, the retail tech platform will introduce and operate cleaning robots that operate in stores, hands-on stores where you can actually try out products, smart lockers for receiving products, smart carts, etc. The solution to be realized is posted. In addition to this, we currently have more than 20 types of solutions for 10 categories such as mobile ordering, online customer service, data analysis, store management, and inventory management.
New platform opened * Source: Peers [Click to enlarge]Mr. Kyosuke Nikaido, a director of Peers, points out that the biggest feature of the retail tech platform is "service design that is close to retailers" (Mr. Nikaido).
Specifically, we added a feature to the media function that posts information about each solution. The person in charge of Peers actually experiences the solution and describes the outline, function, introduction effect, usage flow, etc. of each solution in the same format. In the past, it was necessary to individually consider the characteristics of each solution from the proposals from solution providers and IT vendors and the content of advice from consulting companies, but this labor saving. Supports solution selection by clearly stating function comparison tables and usage fees with other solutions in the product category.
After selecting a solution, Peers will mediate between the retailer's management headquarters and on-site stores to support information transmission and introduction support. Mr. Takashi Kuwano, CEO of Peers, said, "Although interest in retail tech is increasing in Japan, it is not widespread. There is a difference in awareness of smartness and IT literacy between the management headquarters and retail stores in the field. It's because of something like that. " The aim is to solve these problems by having Peers mediate between the two.

It is said that it will provide one-stop services such as on-site training to establish solution operation, problem extraction, and development of improvement measures.
Through the retail tech platform, Peers aims to introduce 5,000 stores in two years, mainly to medium-sized retailers. Mr. Nikaido also said that he would like to work on the development of avatars and customer service robots for online customer service as a medium- to long-term outlook for Peers.
