BMW to set EV for 5 Series and X1... Expand electrified vehicles from 2022

BMW Group announced on December 7 that it will further expand its lineup of electric vehicles from 2022.

◆ More than 50% of global sales will be EV in 2030

BMW brand plans to set "i7" as EV of "X1" and EV of "7 series" in 2022 is. EV will be added to the BMW 5 Series in 2023. BMW Motorrad's latest electric model is the new electric scooter BMW "CE 04". The BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric motor mounted on the frame between the battery and the rear wheels. Equipped with a powerful water-cooled motor with a maximum output of 41hp, it can accelerate from 0 to 50km/h in 2.6 seconds.

The BMW CE 04 has a top speed of 120km/h. It is said that it can run not only in urban areas but also on main roads and highways with the flow. Equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a storage capacity of 8.9 kWh. The maximum cruising range on a single charge is approximately 130km. This enables reliable cello-emission riding in the city on a daily basis.

Adopt charging technology based on the system of the car. Lithium-ion batteries can be charged in regular sockets, wallboxes and public charging stations. The battery can be charged in about 1 hour and 40 minutes using a quick charger with an output of 6.9 kW. ◆Expansion of charging infrastructure is also emphasized

The BMW Group is emphasizing the expansion of charging infrastructure as well as expanding the lineup of EVs. "BMW Charging" and "MINI Charging" enable access to Europe's largest charging network with more than 250,000 charging points.

The BMW Group also offers a range of home charging solutions with wallboxes. The high-power charging network IONITY across Europe is also available. The BMW Group also operates one of Germany's largest charging networks with more than 5,000 charging points.
